Made with Love, Peace & Devotion
During this period of lockdown I have spent some time making Mala Beads.
Mala a Sanskrit word meaning meditation garland, are a string of 108 beads with an additional single guru bead, used for meditation, mantra and prayer. With each bead a mantra or prayer is repeated a total of 108 times known as Japa meditation.
I have found the process of making the Mala beads very peaceful and relaxing, in itself a meditation. Each string uses natural rudraksha seeds and some semi precious stones that are hand knotted along a coloured string and finished with a tassel.
To me these beads represent love, peace, devotion and time. I have decided to make them to support the charity Refuge. This charity supports women and children who have experienced violence and abuse, including domestic violence; rape and sexual abuse; forced marriage; so-called ‘honour’-based violence; human trafficking and modern slavery; prostitution; and female genital mutilation (FGM).
Each Mala comes with details of the healing properties of the stones and rudraksha seeds and instructions of how to use and care for you Mala beads.
All Mala Bead's are £35, plus delivery.
Choose a colour or tell me the colours you like and I will make it for you.
